Are You Ready for Comic-Con 2021!?

Comic-Con 2021 is gonna be one interesting year, to say the least. Lots of little tweaks and changes happening. Are you ready for it?!

Just in case you haven’t heard how this year is working let me break it down. Comic-Con 2021 won’t be the normal in-person, but it won’t just be the @Home version either…oh and SDCC 2021 isn’t only in July either. Yeah, you heard me right, Comic-Con won’t just be July this year! Current plans are for a scaled-back, but in-person version this November! “Comic-Con Special Edition” will be November 26th-28th (Thanksgiving weekend).

The actual attendance size and costs have yet to be released. Though there has been some change in child badges that have come up. As it stands it’s really unclear what it will mean for those with a tween that turned teen during the pandemic, specifically kids 12 that turned 13. If you are a frequent attendant of SDCC you know how important it is to have your previous badge to get first dibs on the next year, well the slight age adjustment just may affect those kiddos in the weird 1-year limbo, but I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see.

Online, @Home version will still be the typical mid-July, July 23rd-25th. Still short of the Wednesday preview night and Thursday mix, but still a strong panel showing Friday through Sunday.

Last year was fun in weird ways, made it to the most panels I’ve ever been able to before. We still did Artist Alley. But just through a little Instagram hashtag stalking and knowing some of my favorite booths from the previous years’. We still managed to score some neat stuff.

Even with that, it definitely still wasn’t the same for sure. No free swag, lol, but really missed my SDCC Family. A cool thing about this year, now there’s a vaccine, there will be a tiny pop-up event at least. Check out the SDCC Shrine and Blood Drive at the Tin Fish. Should be fun.

I’m looking forward to what this year will bring. Hopeful and ready for next year’s giant experience. But, I think this is a good way to ease back into “normalcy.” Just going to personally refer to Comic-Con 2021 as the “hybrid year.” Last year was the year “we stayed at home.” This year will be an interesting mix.

What do you think about this year? Have you already been checking out the exclusives and panel schedules? Let me know if you’ll be making it in November! I know I’ll be there. πŸ˜‰

I actually haven’t been to Comic Con before, so I’m not sure that this is the year I’ll want to try it. I think 2022 might be when I give it a shot!

The fun part of this year, like last, it’s not really an “in-person” or needing badge situation, at least July’s is all online free panels streaming through YouTube!

I’ve never been but it always seems like such a good time! Hopefully, they will have the full event next year!
