7 Ways to Keep the Comic-Con Feels Going

comic-con feels

Not sure my full nerd experience had been scratched. SDCC 2022 was great, but it wasn’t exactly the same. Probably a bit my fault for missing the offsites, but I’m going to be making up for that. Or maybe you had to miss out on this year’s SDCC, well, don’t fret I got you covered. Let this post be your guide in keeping those Comic-Con feels going!

The Nerdy Top 7-

  1. Comic-Con Museum – In Balboa Park open year-round and displaying a brand new Spiderman Exhibit!
  2. Rooftop Cinemas – Make sure to take a look at their movie list and theme nights! They have a little bit of everything! “Summerween,” sing-along, “wooftop” dog-friendly nights, and family-specific ones for the kiddos.
  3. Mothership – A NEW out-of-this-world dining experience!
  4. Off the Shelf Games – Missing the game room? Or miniature painting time? Here’s the place to be!
  5. Fleet Science Center – Make sure to be following them, they tend to also have fun adult nights.
  6. Clerks III: The Convenience Tour – Comes to San Diego’s Balboa Theatre on October 2nd, 2022.
  7. Little Fish Comic Book Studio – Perfect for those budding comic book creators, take a class! They offer lessons to a wide age range.

*BONUS* Ideas-

  • For you, cosplayers, join a cosplay community! There’s plenty in San Diego and what I love most about these groups almost all of them have some kind of giving back aspect. If you are wearing a costume, might as well put it to good use! Cheer up a sick kiddo or bring attention to a local non-profit fundraiser. A few coming to mind: San Diego Star Wars Society, Healing Little Heroes Foundation, or Kids Can Cosplay (though they are mostly a touch north of San Diego). There actually are so many more potential groups, but once you know one it’s quick to find another that works for you.
  • Also, check out places like Meetup.com if you are also just looking to meet other nerdy folks.
  • Another, just keep your eyes on Balboa Park Events, you never know what museum is going to be doing something extra. the NAT, Museum of Us, Air & Space Museum, and The Old Globe just to name a few.

One more tip, maybe stalk the SDCC exhibitors and panelist list! A good amount are local and have businesses and events year round so it’s definitely worth looking at.

Thank goodness for San Diego and all its fun things to do! Feeding our nerdom year round.

Did I leave anything off my list? Anything else coming to mind to keep those Comic-Con feels going? I know I’m always looking at all the fun things this city has to do, so don’t be shy and drop it in the comment below!
