Thinking of you, Transgender Utah (Resources)

So, here we go again! Sadly, this time the target is transgender Utah, specifically the trans youth of Utah. And horrifyingly there are currently there are 124 anti-LGBTQ bills being pushed nationally (242 from just 2019- Jan. 2023) and Utah signing SB16 into action makes it the first state of 2023 to ban on gender-affirming care for those under 18.

We can’t just sit and wait, it’s time for extra help and resources. Gender-Affirming care is suicide prevention. It’s a fact. And these attacks just put targets on our kids. Not only does my heartbreak, but there’s fear. Being a parent of a gender-non-confirming child myself, I cannot begin to imagine what families in the state of Utah are going through. So instead of doing nothing, let’s spread some resources and keep on fighting.

Some may be great resources for those not in Utah. Trans, rainbow alphabet, or ally, let’s protect one another.

Praying you don’t need this, but it’s here if you do. Let’s protect trans youth and those wonderful families that have been doing all the correct medical support.

Remember, now more than ever it’s important to be a visible ally for trans youth. Check #IllGoWithYou for ideas. Or my LGBTQIAP+ tab, with more ally and transgender topics.

Governor Cox might be the first to ban gender-affirming care in 2023, but he won’t be the last. Make sure you are following your local politicians and speaking out.

We’re thinking of and fighting for you transgender Utah.
